The Everlasting Memory
"I believe...our personal faith in God informs us that we can pray to our Lord, until the very last breath is expelled from our lungs; until the strength within our limbs has emptied our bodies; until the heart rests its final beat and the pulses to our brain end. We have been blessed knowing gentle peace will fill all the uncertainty we face and confident peace will have the final resting place in our body, as our soul remains with those we count as family and friends." So begins my sermon for this coming Sunday, November 26, 2017. We celebrate Totenfest, the traditonal Evangelical & Reformed Festival of the Dead. While we do not have any current members who have died during the past year, we will raise up the name of Mr. Jim Hight, a friend and past member. Prayers and remembrances will also be offered.
